Curriculum

Our programs enrich children's natural curiosity and inspire a lifelong passion for learning. We understand that children learn best by actively participating.  Learning is more meaningful when children are hands-on and can interact with materials and engage all of their senses. Teachers develop an emergent curriculum that evolves with the children's interests. Open-ended and intriguing projects promote creative problem-solving and critical thinking skills where big ideas are explored. We focus on the social, physical, intellectual, creative, and emotional development of each child. STEM is also seamlessly integrated into all academic areas.

The curriculum, while reflecting children’s interests, is designed to ensure school readiness and is aligned with NJ Early Learning Guidelines and follows the recommendations of The National Accreditation for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

Documentation

We use a variety of methods of formal and informal observation and documentation to help us understand the whole child.

Photos, videos, anecdotal notes, children’s narratives and work samples all become part of their authentic portfolios.

Observing children’s thinking and how they problem solve, helps us build a deep understanding of what their interests are and to offer rich opportunities for future learning experiences.
