Fours/Pre-K

Experiences that build the foundation for literacy and mathematical thinking are offered at Bloom Academy and taught through purposeful play. Daily opportunities to read, write, apply mathematic and scientific skills, problem solving and peaceful conflict resolution will be fostered daily. Children are engaged in the active learning process, involving the development of language, scientific thought, creativity, and critical thinking skills. Our Pre-K students become familiar with print concepts, phonics, and word recognition. We encourage children to respond to literature and then display these responses in a print-rich environment.

Children are active and playful participants in their own learning. The physical environment is arranged so that all children can easily access materials and become successful learners. Children demonstrate curiosity and initiative while using their imagination, ingenuity, and creativity throughout the day

Preparation for kindergarten is embedded through individual, small and large group experiences, and discussions which facilitates collaboration and cooperation among peers.
